Today, pomegranates are consumed in a wide variety of forms, including fresh, dried, and squeezed juice. So how is the pomegranate sorted?

There are several different ways to eat pomegranates:

  • Use a spoon to remove the seeds from the pomegranate. Divide the pomegranate in half from the middle. Hold one half on a large container with the cut side facing down. Using the back of a spoon, hit the pomegranate firmly to loosen the grains. If there are stubborn ones, squeeze the pomegranate a little.
  • Cut off the top and bottom of the pomegranate with a sharp knife. Then cut the shell into four. Open the pomegranate with your hands. Use your fingers or a spoon to gently separate the seeds from the skin and membrane.
  • Use a pomegranate seed separator. This is the easiest way to extract pomegranates without getting your hands dirty.

Whatever method you choose, be sure to remove the white membranes from the beans before eating them. Also, rinse the pomegranate under cold water before cutting and pat it dry with a paper towel.

How To Choose a Pomegranate?

When choosing a pomegranate, make sure it is heavy and dark red in color. Also, make sure you don't buy pomegranates that are too ripe, unripe, or rotten. Be careful not to buy pomegranates that are soft or have spots on the peel.

Squeeze the pomegranate lightly to see if the pomegranate is ripe. If it is slightly hard, the pomegranate is ripe. Make sure it's not too hard or too soft.
