What is the Best Starbucks Coffee Drink?
Starbucks has been making delicious coffee drinks for an awfully long time now, so you might wonder which ones are best. Well, we’re here to help!
Starbucks coffee is known to be delicious, creative, and typically fairly affordable compared to smaller coffee shops. The thing that makes the chain really great, though, is how regularly they release delicious new drinks. We’ve got a long list of some of our favorites, so let’s talk about them!
20+ Greatest Starbucks Menu Drinks Of All Time
Caffe Mocha
360 Calories - 35 Grams Sugar
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love a good mocha? Well, Starbucks makes an amazing one! A hot chocolate can only be improved with whipped cream and a shot or two of strong coffee, and Starbucks have nailed it with this one.
Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade
130 calories - 32 grams sugar
Peach is one of the most underappreciated flavors out there, and this drink takes advantage of it. We can’t really taste the green tea, but we don’t mind! This peach lemonade-style drink is ideal for the summer.
Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso
120 Calories - 13 Grams Sugar
This is a frankly incredible drink. So many times a non-dairy aftertaste ruins a drink like this, but the Oatly milk used eliminates that completely! Plus, it’s bursting with caffeine (about two and a half cups worth) meaning that it’s ideal for a little boost.
Nitro Cold Brew with Sweet Cream
70 calories - 4 grams sugar
This drink is a somehow creamier version of all your other cold brew faves, but the nitro method makes it all the richer. This drink also has a better-than-most sugar content, ideal for people watching their sugar intake.
Caffe Latte
190 calories - 18 grams sugar
As much as we all adore sweetened, artificially flavored drinks, there’s something incredible about a classic latte. Rich, creamy, caffeinated, and piping hot for those cold mornings. Ideal!
Iced Pineapple Matcha Coconut Milk Drink
170 calories - 27 grams sugar
This drink is a surprise in a mug. The pineapple and ginger in it are bright to contrast the earthy matcha, plus it has a great hit of caffeine (80mg, a standard mug of drip coffee has around 100mg) to boot! A wonderful cold drink for a hot day.
Chai Latte
240 calories - 42 grams sugar
Chai is a love it or hate it flavor, and we definitely love it! The traditional blend hasn’t changed in many years, and it’s easy to see why. Fragrant, fruity, and rich - ideal for chilly mornings.
Honey Citrus Mint Tea
130 calories - 30 grams sugar
This is a fan creation that made its way onto the menu with time, and we’re so glad it did! The tea has a great pairing of lemonade and honey which gives you a lift any time of the day. Plus, it’s an ideal drink for when you might feel a sniffle coming on!
Star Drink
130 calories - 22 grams sugar
This is a rich and fruity drink that combines the fruitiness of some of Starbucks’ more intense teas with the creaminess of coconut milk to make a true tropical delight. How delicious!
Kiwi Starfruit Starbucks Refreshers
90 calories - 18 grams sugar
We don’t know quite how they’ve done it, but this drink is a masterful combination of kiwi and starfruit that’s as sweet as it is indulgent. It’s a wonderful, bright, and summery drink that would certainly be loved by any fruit fans. There are even indulgent chunks of kiwi in the drink which just serve to remind you of the incredible flavors behind what you’re eating. Yum!
Dragon Drink
130 calories - 23 grams sugar
While this drink is just as sweet as you might expect it to be from the look, it’s much fruitier than you might have expected. It’s very mango-forward, and ideal for the summertime, as so many Starbucks drinks are.
Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew
110 calories, 14 grams sugar
Whatever might be in Starbucks sweet cream, it does some kind of magic to good old-fashioned cold brew. We love this drink, it’s smooth, rich, and extremely Instagram-ready.
Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refreshers
90 calories - 19 grams sugar
This drink is, quite frankly, one of the most colorful and fruity things we’ve ever seen! It has actual pieces of dragon fruit in there, allowing for some wonderful flavors to come through in no time at all. There’s also a lovely mango boost on the end - it’s delicious!
Flat White
220 calories - 17 grams sugar
This is a really simple drink, but one we can’t get enough of. It’s a glass of warm, comforting milk with a shot of coffee in there to brighten up your day! The toasty, not-at-all-bitter flavor is ideal for any coffee lover out there that wants to switch things up.
Iced Chocolate Almond Milk Shaken Espresso
110 calories - 16 grams sugar
This is a drink that we’ve included because it’s so close to being amazing. It’s plant-based chocolate milk with beautiful espresso - what’s not to love? Sadly, this drink is perhaps a little watery for some peoples’ tastes - but it could be something great!
Nitro Cold Brew
5 calories - 0 grams sugar
This is a simple drink that’s also an utter classic. It’s so good that Starbucks cans it and sells it in supermarkets - what’s not to love? If you’re getting it in-store, try it with a topping of vanilla sweet cream, it’s a really great touch!
Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino
370 calories - 53 grams sugar
While this might be too vanilla-heavy for some, there’s no denying the love for it all over the world! It’s creamy, sweet, and vanilla-crazy, ideal for the sweet-toothed among us. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go sometime soon!
Medium Roast
5 calories - 0 grams sugar
This roast is a favorite in the drip coffee machines of Starbucks across the world, and it’s easy to see why. With flavors of cocoa and nuts that are accentuated by some milk and sugar, it’s an easy drink.
Blonde Roast
5 calories - 0 grams sugar
This roast is actually our personal favorite of them all, especially in a milky, cappuccino-style drink. It’s really smooth, and pleasantly nutty and grassy just how a good light roast is. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go soon!
Dark Roast
5 calories - 0 grams sugar
This roast is perhaps their least popular, but it’s still loved by many. The flavors are quite intense, ranging from caramel to dark chocolate depending on that specific batch of beans. Give it a go, it’s certainly worth a try to find a potential new favorite!
Starbucks drink sizes
Starbucks has a huge number of sizes on offer, ideal for people who might want a huge coffee first thing in the morning, or perhaps a tiny coffee in the late evening.
The sizes are as follows:
- Demi - 3oz.
- Short - 8oz.
- Tall - 12oz.
- Grande - 16oz.
- Venti - 20oz.
- Trenta - 30oz.
While all of these sizes are available out there, you’ll most commonly want to order a tall, grande, or venti coffee depending on your thirst. If you don’t want to say the names, asking for a small, medium, or large will typically get you those sizes respectively.
What beans are used in Starbucks coffee?
There are two main types of coffee beans out there - arabica and robusta.
Robusta grows more easily in a number of different locations, while arabica is a little fussier (at least as far as plants go). Generally speaking, robusta is considered to be more bitter than arabica beans, and arabica typically has a larger number of delicate, considered flavors up for grabs.
Starbucks uses exclusively arabica beans in their coffee drinks, leading to a delicious flavor that we all know and love.
