How to Prepare Pisi Dough at Home?
While preparing Spinach Pisi; You can take ready-made dough from the oven or prepare it yourself at home. You can use yeast dough or unleavened dough.
Material for Making Homemade Yeast Pisi Dough
- 1 pack dry yeast or half pack fresh yeast
- 2 glasses of warm water
- 4 glasses of flour
- 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt

- Add warm water to a bowl.
- Mix the yeast, sugar, salt and water. Continue mixing until the yeast dissolves.
- Wait 2-3 minutes for the yeast to become active.
- Add flour to the mixture and knead the dough.
- Cover the dough after kneading. Let it rise for about 45-60 minutes at room temperature.
- Take the dough to the counter. Knead the dough several times. In this way, deflate the dough.
- Sprinkle flour on the counter. Divide the dough into walnut-sized pieces.
- Roll out each dough with the help of a roller and cover it after putting your mixture for the spinach pisi.
Material for Making Homemade Unleavened Pisi Dough
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of yogurt
- 1 glass of warm water
- 2 - 2.5 glasses of flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 teaspoons of salt
Directions for Homemade Unleavened Pisi Dough
- Whisk the eggs, yoghurt and water with a hand mixer.
- Add vinegar to the mixture.
- Mix the salt, baking powder and baking soda with the flour in a separate bowl.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the liquid mixture.
- Get a soft dough.
- Roll out the dough with the help of a rolling pin. Cut the dough you opened with the help of a water glass.
- In the middle of the dough, add 1 tablespoon of the mixture you prepared for the spinach pisi.
How Is Spinach Boiled?
When spinach is boiling, first remove the leaves. Soak in vinegar water for 10 minutes. Cut the stems with a pair of scissors or a knife. Add salt water to a pan. Chop the spinach. After the water boils, add the spinach. Cook with the lid open for 2-3 minutes. Drain the spinach with a strainer. Add salt, pepper and lemon juice optionally.
